Jordan Starr

I am a self-taught photographer with a degree in sociology and philosophy.

As we are increasingly exposed to major media coverage around popular world events and conflict, I choose to focus on the lesser-known enclaves of social life. I have always cheered for the underdogs and strive to bridge understanding for those living on the margins who are often stronger and more important than we think.

Photography has taken me through North and South America to exhibit my work in 14 solo and group exhibitions. I was an Artist in Residence at the Instituto Volusiano in Brazil as well as being selected to participate in the Missouri Photo Workshop to which I received the Helge Hummelvol Scholarship.
